“Yes, and I personally met the devil at least three times face to face.” This musical performance focuses on a machine that apparently produces confusing near-death experiences and on a Rumanian singer that believes herself to be somewhere in between life and death. She’s being watched by three dark figures from an intermediate world...

A tale about the quest for a giant carrot and an imaginary three-headed monster.  ‘Zanahoria’ is a lecture about the proverbial carrot one holds in front of a donkey in order to make it move. For the follow-up of their cult-hit ‘Chuck Norris doesn’t sleep, he waits…’ (2007), Bryssinck & Peeters (at that time still with Danai Anesiadou) went...
2009
In these Safety Instructions Hans Bryssinck holds speeches in which he attempts to say something truthful. Because he fears to say something truthful and because he fears loneliness he invites a guest alongside an object or a machine that relates to them. This can range from bikers (motorbike), cyclists (bike) and green workers (chainsaw) to...

One Man Snow is a late night act in which the entertainer is haunted by his bygone past. He re-lives moments from some other showbiz career, dreams about a show that he himself would have liked to see. There are fantasies and there is paranoia. He enters the show of his absurdist nightmares, haunted by the ghosts of entertainment. Secretly he’s...
2008
Hans Bryssinck invited Werner Hirsch to mount a series of photos based on found footage and biographical imagery. In those photos they play with coincidence and the fact of finding oneself somewhere in between. Werner will really be in between everything: in between other things, but also between the devil and the deep sea and between pillar and...
2007
Where have the discrete charms of the bourgeoisie gone? In their enigmatically titled ensemble piece "Chuck Norris Doesn't Sleep, He Waits", Danai Anesiadou, Hans Bryssinck and Diederik Peeters take turns performing the cinematic chores of decadence, basing their taut, absurdist skits on filmic representation of ennui-stricken jet set life. A...
2005
Over the years, the young performer Hans Bryssinck has accumulated snapshots of friends and family and records of his projects. In Silent Manifesto you see a slide-show using several projectors. In between times Bryssinck tells of minor incidents and greater events. An intimate performance that reflects on the little idiosyncrasies of the human...
2005
Sterven in Stijl (To die in style) is a solo by Hans Bryssinck and Dolores Bouckaert. Sterven in Stijl shows an actress wandering round between various scenes that increasingly head for her death: fragments of memories, lost loves and a last confession. English spoken
2003
Los Viernes was scripted as one full day of urban experiences throughout Mexico-City; driving around, meeting people, giving lectures in universities, doing guided museum tours etc. On Friday the 21st Bryssinck & Peeters acted out the script and turned it into a performative experience. Exactly one week later, on Friday the 28th they tried to...
