Thomas Ryckewaert / Wolff
Wolff °2007 is a young performance company, led by Thomas Ryckewaert. The company has immediately been noticed because of its own theatrical language, which is poetical, radical, visual and ritual. Regular artistic partners are visual artist Erki De Vries and sound designer Tim Vets.
Thomas Ryckewaert °1979 lives and works in Antwerp
Thomas studied Biology and Philosophy at the KULeuven and graduated as Master in Dramatic Arts at theatre academy Dora van der Groen. As a director he works with his company Wolff and as a freelance actor for theatre and film.
Erki De Vries °1978 lives and works in Antwerp
Erki graduated as Master in the Visual arts at Sint Lucas, Antwerp. Afterwards, he followed a post-graduate at Post Sint Joost in Breda. In 2005 he became a laureate of the Higher Institute for Fine Arts. Erki has exposed his visual work on several (international) expositions. For several installations he has been working together with Tim Vets. In 2006 he started his career as scenographer for the Turkish dance company Taldans. Recently, he has made the performance 'Birdwatching', together with choreographer/dancer Benjamin Vandewalle.
Tim Vets °1974 lives and works in St Niklaas
After his studies at the Antwerp Conservatorium Tim became laureate of an international jazz and composition competition. He was a solist for the Flemish Radio Orchestra for a while and he wrote a special composition for a trio and electronics. As a guitar player, composer and installation artist he works at the boundaries of improvisation, electronical music and installation art. These themes are also his subject of research at the IPEM, Ghent and the Antwerp Conservatorium. Besides his compositions for Wolff, Tim works for Champ d'Action, production company and studio for actual music and sound art. His installations have been exposed at various (international) expositions. The duo 'Erki de Vries & Tim Vets' has been noticed because of the works 'City Lights', 'poltergeist' and 'deflektor'.
